BrokerWare System Updates

System Updates

BrokerWare Release Notes 09/03/2026

New Features & Enhancements

AP Audit (Workflows)

  • Added strict total amount validation on the AP Audit secondary invoice screen. The system now enforces an exact match between the balance due amount and the supplemental invoice total, displaying an error message and preventing submission if an overpayment or underpayment is attempted.
  • Integrated automatic logging into shipment notes to record all validation updates and secondary invoice adjustments for audit purposes.
  • Added standard warning/confirmation logic when closing or exiting the AP Invoice screen via the modal close icon ("X") after manual edits are made. Changes that are not saved will be lost if the modal closes down.
  • Secondary Invoices: On the Secondary AP Invoice screen, Class, Pieces, and Weight are no longer required fields.
  • Updated the AP Audit screen to filter out disputed invoices from the primary view and house them under a dedicated tab, along with expanded Excel export capabilities.
  • Updated the Receive Payable screen so that Class, Pieces, and Weight are no longer required fields for Truckload shipments.
    • Ensured the Class field remains strictly required when opening the Receive Payable screen (and AP Audit review) for LTL shipments, requiring a valid class value (other than 0/unselected) before proceeding.
    • Added a per-row Release Invoice button directly on the AP Audit list screen, including the Invoices in Dispute tab.
      • Allows users to release carrier invoices on hold status directly from the audit list without navigating to individual shipment profiles.

Dispute Log

  • Added PRO Number to Dispute Review Screen. The Dispute Review screen now displays the shipment’s PRO Number directly within the review modal/view. This update improves load identification and prevents delays during the dispute review process by providing immediate reference visibility.

Report Builder

  • Added a "Hide from Report" setting to the Report Builder configuration, allowing users to use columns purely for filtering or sorting without exposing those fields in final report outputs.
    • Configuration Toggle: Added a "Hide from Report" option for each column in the Report Builder setup (available for authorized staff). Selecting this automatically unchecks the "Modifiable" option. Users cannot have both the "Hide from Report" and "Modifiable" selected.
    • Filtered Display: Marked columns remain hidden across web views, exported files (PDF, CSV, Excel), manually sent emails, and scheduled report emails.
    • Preserved Logic: Hidden columns continue to apply their underlying filter and sort rules to dataset calculations.

Excluded Carriers

  • Added a new dropdown in Customer Preferences allowing users to exclude a carrier specifically under a designated provider (including Bazaar Sellers).
    • Blocking a carrier under a specific provider will not prevent that carrier from rating directly or through other providers in the Least Cost Routing (LCR).
    • Updated audit logs to capture when carriers and/or providers are added to or removed from the user's excluded carrier list (formatted as [Provider] [Carrier] when a provider is selected).

3PL Newsletter

  • Added a direct link to the 3PL Newsletter in the BrokerWare navigation menu for quick access to system update emails. This is restricted to staff logins only.

Mode Level Quote Expiration Days

  • Added a new Quote Expiration Days field under Mode Configuration, allowing users to define quote validity windows per mode.
    • Expiration Label & Status Visibility: Quotes past the defined expiration window now display an EXPIRED indicator in quote lists and shipment profile views (applies to both staff and customer portal logins). This is strictly a label.
    • Quotes remain in Quoted status, allowing staff and customers to process live loads normally (book, duplicate, cancel).
    • Mode Configuration - Quote Expiration Days

Remove Submit Claim (Workflows)

  • Removed the Submit Claim button and associated modal from the Carrier section on the shipment profile page. This prevents stations from submitting claims via this path following the deprecation of the claim submission feature. This will only affect systems utilizing the Workflow default.

Delivery Number Field

  • Increased the character limit of the Delivery Number field to support up to 500 characters. Includes proper truncation handling to prevent internal server errors on long string inputs.

Upload Templates

  • Updated TMS upload templates (Tariff, Mass Rater, Shipment Uploader & Updater, and ImportUploader) to include the full, alphabetized list of default system accessorial codes and mappings.

Pallet Label Options

  • Added a customizable dropdown setting when the preference Combine BOL & Shipping Label into Single Document is selected, allowing users to choose the output size and layout for shipping labels. Available across both Customer-level and Division-level preferences.
    • Label Format Dropdown Options:
      • Default: Retains the current standard label formatting.
      • 4x6: Scales the label to fit an entire 4x6 document size.
      • 8.5x11: Scales the label to fit an entire 8.5x11 page size.

Dimension LxWxH Overlength Logic

  • Updated width and height dimension fields to match length field overlength logic, automatically applying the Excess Length accessorial to quotes exceeding threshold limits and evaluating the longest dimension per carrier contract rules.
    • Currently, this is applied to dimension handling across ABF Freight, Southwestern Motor Transport, Forward Air, and FedEx (Economy, Priority, Canada).
    • Added validation and error handling for Magnum Logistics and Forward Air when height dimensions reach or exceed API constraints (e.g., shipments with a height of 96 inches or greater).

Velocity View

  • Enhanced the Velocity View Dashboard by introducing new selectable and customizable data fields to improve visibility and tracking capabilities across shipments.
    • Added support for the following new fields in the Velocity View Dashboard (available to show or sticky):
      • Reference & Order Identifiers: Sales Order #, Reference #, Delivery #, Pickup #, Driver Type
      • Carrier & Service Details: Service Type, Carrier SCAC, Tanker Endorsed, Hazmat
      • Operations & Contact Tracking: Dispatcher, Account Manager (comma-separated), Customer Sales Rep (comma-separated), Carrier Sales Rep (comma-separated), Last Tracking Note, Next Check Call
      • Financial Insights: Margin ($), Margin (%)
      • Shipment & Items: Class (comma-separated), NMFC (comma-separated)
      • Logistics & Milestones: Lane Owner, Max Buy, Pickup Departure, Delivery Arrival, Delivery Window (Start/End)

Unbilled Report

  • Optimized the Unbilled Report query path to significantly reduce database load, speed up report load times, and eliminate intermittent 502 upstream timeouts during concurrent data, summary, and export calls.
  • Fixed an issue where using the delivery date (from/to) filters broke detailed load data results.
  • Added the Pickup Date column to report results so users can easily cross-reference loads when filtering by pickup dates.

Customer Specific - Allow Same Bill Name (Workflows)

  • Updated customer creation and billing rules to allow multiple customer accounts to share the same Billing Name, provided they have unique shipping names/locations.
  • Duplicate Billing Name Support: System now permits creating shipping address "customers" using an existing billing contact/name via non-login billing contacts without triggering duplicate name errors.
  • CSR & Approval Workflow Routing:
    • Shipping-only Locations: Automatically set up and bypass manual workflow queues.
    • Sub-accounts with Custom Billing: Sub-accounts assigned distinct billing info continue through the full CSR approval flow steps.
    • Oracle/Connect Integration: Prevents unnecessary account syncs to Connect during initial creation or revisions while maintaining required bridge processing for invoicing.

Global Default: Allow Historical Pickup Date Rating

  • Introduced a new global default setting - Allow Rating with Historical Pickup Dates - enabling the rating engine to calculate estimated delivery dates (EDD) based on specified historical pickup dates rather than defaulting to today's date.
  • When enabled (true), EDD is calculated using the provided historical pickup date for both standard shipment profile ratings and the "mass rerate of existing carrier" action.
    • Added logic preventing Allow Rating with Historical Pickup Dates and Advanced Shipment Booking - Strict Pickup Dates from being enabled simultaneously.

EDI with Support Docs (FTP)

  • Added support for the [[ShipperNumber]] token in backup/supporting document naming conventions.
  • Mapped Shipper Number to document extract filenames to support TriumphPay / custom reference alignment (PRO and PO number options).

Divisions

  • Added tabbed navigation (General and Integrations & API) to the Edit Division modal in Admin Tools to improve organization.
  • Added a search bar ("Search settings...") within the Division modal to quickly filter configuration options like addresses, API clients, etc.

Duplicate Commodity Line

  • Added a duplicate action icon to the Edit Commodity modal on the Shipment Profile. Users can now quickly duplicate an existing commodity line item into a new row without having to manually re-enter commodity details.

Default Unit Type Value by Customer

  • Added a per-customer setting in Preferences that allows users to set a default pre-selected Unit Type for new commodity lines.
  • The new setting displays when both the Unit Count and Unit Type toggles are enabled.

E-BOL Download

  • Downloaded E-BOL PDF documents now automatically append the load number to the filename (E-BOL-{LOAD#}.pdf), matching standard BOL naming conventions for easier organization and identification.

Webhook URL for Status Changes

  • Updated the customer preference "Webhook Url Status Changes" webhook payload to include four new fields:
    • driverName
    • driverPhone
    • tractorNumber
    • trailerNumber
  • The new fields are automatically appended to customer status change events (such as LOAD_ACCEPTED, DISPATCHED, or IN_TRANSIT) as soon as a driver is assigned.
  • This update allows automated systems (such as dock notifications for clients) to immediately transmit driver and equipment details as soon as customs and dispatch are set.

Email Notifications - Refused Delivery & Missed Delivery

  • Modified email notifications for shipments marked as Refused Delivery so the subject line and body no longer display "Delivery Confirmed." Notifications now explicitly state that the delivery was refused.
  • Added new automated email notifications when a delivery attempt is marked as Missed Delivery, ensuring users are alerted that a delivery attempt was missed.

Mass Approve - AP Audit (Workflows)

  • Enhanced the AP Audit page by adding a bulk action capability that allows users to mass approve or mass "Approve as is" invoices without bypassing validation checks.
  • Mass Action Multi-Select: Added a checkbox column on the left side of the AP Audit grid to enable selecting multiple invoices simultaneously.
  • Bulk Approval Actions: Introduced an Actions dropdown at the top of the grid with two options:
    • Mass Approve
    • Mass Approve As Is
  • Invoices triggering validation errors are excluded from bulk approval while non-failing invoices process normally.
  • A Mass Approval Results popup displays any skipped invoices along with their specific validation failure reasons.
  • Hold/Release status rows are locked to prevent invalid selection.

BOL Multi-Page Layout Improvements

  • Enhanced the Bill of Lading (BOL) document generation logic to support multi-page layouts across both Standard and Multi-Stop BOL templates when enabled via the "Multi Page BOL Header/Footers" global setting.
    • Header Consistency: Automatically repeats the standard BOL header section on page two and subsequent pages when content exceeds a single page.
    • Flow & Alignment: Improved document content rendering to allow shipping details to continue seamlessly across pages without text truncation, overlap, or misalignment.
    • Multi-Stop & Master Support: Extended multi-page header capabilities to include Multi-Stop Master BOL records.
    • Single-Page Retention: Maintained standard single-page BOL behavior without impacting single-page document layouts.

Partner Integrations

Sonar

  • The Sonar integration has been removed as a selectable option from the Partner Integrations menu. The Sonar Freightwaves integration is still available.

Bank of America

  • Updated payment webhook handling to process next-day credit card declines properly.

Shiplify

  • Enhanced the Shiplify pop-up/dropdown behavior for both Staff and Customer accounts. Clicking the pop-up now locks it open, keeping it visible even if the mouse pointer leaves the area, until clicked elsewhere.
  • Added Shiplify details to shipping and receiving locations within the shipment profile, matching the full booking form experience.
    • API endpoints to pull Shiplify data are now conditionally called only when the user clicks the "Shiplify Information" button, preventing unnecessary API calls and reducing overhead.

Carrier Integrations

Ward Transport

  • Added support for Ward Spot Quotes on shipments containing 10 pallets or fewer.
    • This is controlled by an "Enable spot quote rate for 10 pallets or less" toggle in the carrier integration setup.
    • When enabled for eligible shipments (≤10 pallets), the system simultaneously requests standard LTL and spot quote rates.

Spee-Dee

  • Implemented tracking support for the Spee-Dee integration.

Metropolitan Warehouse & Delivery

  • Resolved an issue where shipments dispatched to Metro hardcoded packedbyShipper as "No," causing carriers to flag shipments as requiring packaging. Updated the value to default to "Yes" on every e-dispatch request so freight is correctly processed as pre-packed by the shipper.

SAIA Freight

  • Added support for SAIA's Guaranteed by 10am service level rate option, allowing it to populate alongside existing 12pm and 5pm guaranteed rates in the LCR.

AIT Worldwide

  • Added support for AIT Worldwide's Drop and Go (DAG) service level, configured specifically for DECKED.

Bug Fixes

FreshX

  • Removed the API Tracking and E-Docs configuration options and features for FreshX, as these capabilities are not supported by the integration.

Estes Express

  • Resolved an E-Dispatch failure with Estes caused by character count limits on shipper/consignee address fields and commodity descriptions. Address Line 1 and Address Line 2 fields for shipper and consignee are automatically truncated when exceeding 25 characters to ensure smooth e-dispatch processing without throwing errors. Full address and commodity information continue to be displayed on the printed Bill of Lading (BOL).
  • Resolved an issue where API tracking updates from carriers (such as Estes) were sending past pickup dates, improperly overwriting shipment pickup times and causing shipments to fall outside tracking windows.

SAIA Freight

  • Resolved an issue where SAIA shipments tracked by BOL or PO number required two tracking cycles to reflect their updated status. The system now updates both the PRO Number and current shipment status during the initial tracking run.

TForce Freight

  • Fixed an issue where tracking updates, status changes, and event details from the TForce Freight API were not updating shipment statuses or writing to load notes in the TMS.

Haulistic

  • Fixed an issue in rate request payloads for Haulistic where pickup window timestamps were transmitted in UTC instead of local shipper time.

Old Dominion

  • Mapped the pickup number returned in Old Dominion (ODFL) EDI 990 responses (e.g., segment N9PU) directly to the shipment profile's Pickup # field.
  • Resolved an issue where processing an Old Dominion EDI 990 response would wipe or overwrite an existing Pro Number on the load. Existing Pro Numbers are now preserved during 990 processing.

DAT Carrier Onboarding

  • Resolved an issue where creating a carrier failed with an error (Required field effectiveDate in InsuranceRecord is not set) when DAT insurance records lacked an effective date. The system now gracefully handles null or missing insurance effective dates during mapping.

Customer Access - Admin

  • Fixed an issue where customer Admin users with appropriate editing permissions could not delete accessorials while a shipment was in Booked status. This now matches the expected behavior alongside Quoted status. Accessorial modifications remain restricted once the shipment reaches Dispatched status.

DAT RateView

  • Resolved an issue where selecting a DAT market rate on non-Truckload shipments, including Hot Shot, Partial, Volume Partial, and Intermodal, failed to save or apply to the Shipment Profile. This aligns the eligibility logic for DAT RateView between the Shipment Profile and Source Capacity pages.

BOL Template 2

  • Resolved an issue where pickup and delivery dates on Bill of Lading (BOL) Template 2 did not match the shipment profile—or failed to populate—when the OnTime setting was disabled.

AP Audit - Historical Fuel Rating (Workflows)

  • Resolved an issue where secondary AP Audit Run Rate ignored historical fuel indices by ship date and incorrectly applied current fuel rates. Secondary rating calls now correctly route through historical fuel rates, ensuring accurate fuel surcharge calculations (e.g., proper calculation for custom tariffs and stored fuel indices).

Triumph Rate Intelligence

  • Fixed an issue where signing a rate confirmation sent an incorrect load status to the Triumph Rate Intelligence API.

FourKites Tracking

  • Fixed an issue where receiving an "Available for Delivery" tracking update from FourKites incorrectly reverted shipment statuses back to In Transit instead of maintaining or updating to Out for Delivery.

Pre-Assigned PRO Number Carrier List

  • Resolved an issue where the carrier dropdown menu appeared empty on the Full Form booking screen when "Do you have a pre-assigned Pro Number?" was enabled. Carrier options now load correctly after customer settings are fetched.

Spee-Dee

  • Resolved an issue in the Spee-Dee integration where pickup start times were being sent or interpreted as UTC instead of local time zone.

Customer List

  • Fixed an issue where the Customer List displayed outdated or removed sales reps instead of updating to reflect active assignments.

CSR (Workflows)

  • Fixed an issue where CSR revisions bypassed required approval steps when approved by users from prior steps. Re-enabled group membership and lock validation in CustomerRevisionApproval to ensure only users assigned to the current approval group can approve high credit limit requests.

Convoy

  • Fixed an issue where the temperature unit was omitted from the load posting payload, which previously caused API errors when submitting reefer shipments to Convoy. Temperature requirements are now properly formatted and displayed.

Unbilled Report

  • Fixed an issue on the Unbilled Report where carrier names appeared blank for shipments handled by carriers without a SCAC code (primarily Truckload carriers).

Invoice Printing

  • Resolved issues causing EDI 210 invoices to hang in printing queues or display misleading status entries during FTP/SFTP transfers.

Cubic Foot Calculation

  • Resolved an issue where palletized shipments (isPallets=true) with multiple commodity lines calculated cubic footage using individual piece counts instead of pallet-level quantities, resulting in inflated cubic foot totals.

Carrier Profile - Remove Fraud Tag

  • Resolved an issue where attempting to remove a fraud tag on a carrier profile resulted in the indicator persisting after confirming the override.
    • Clicking the red pencil icon next to a contact or phone number on the carrier contacts page and confirming "Yes" now properly clears the fraud alert and updates the state across both the contacts view and the main Carrier Profile view.
  • Fixed an issue where phone-based fraud alerts remained active even after the associated carrier phone number was removed.
  • Carrier fraud alerts are no longer routed to disabled contacts, and any active alerts tied to a contact are automatically cleared when that contact is disabled.

Macropoint

  • Resolved an issue where the "Update Shipment Status" dropdown in the MacroPoint Integration Details modal rendered with no selectable options. The dropdown now populates correctly with No (false) and Yes (true) choices.
